Can I get an “Amen!”? :)
(RECENT VIRGINIA CHURCH SERVICE-STIMULUS SERMON)
Genesis 47:13-27
I would love to give the Pastor of this predominantly black church in
Virginia a hug and a high five. This guy is obviously a leader. Perhaps we should each decide who our real leader is….It is amazing to see that very little has changed in 4,000 years.
—————————————————
Good morning, brothers and sisters; it’s always a delight to see the pews crowded on Sunday morning, and so eager to get into God’s Word. Turn with me in your Bibles, if you will to the 47th chapter of Genesis, we’ll begin our reading at verse 13, and go through verse 27. Brother Ray, would you stand and read that great passage for us? ….(reading)…
Thank you for that fine reading, Brother Ray… So we see that economic hard times fell upon Egypt , and the people turned to the government of Pharaoh to deal with this for them. And Pharaoh nationalized the grain harvest, and placed the grain in great storehouses that he had built. So the people brought their money to Pharaoh, like a great tax increase, and gave it all to him willingly in return for grain. And this went on until their money ran out, and they were hungry again.
So when they went to Pharaoh after that, they brought their livestock -their cattle, their horses, their sheep, and their donkey - to barter for grain, and verse 17 says that only took them through the end of that year..
But the famine wasn’t over, was it? So the next year, the people came before Pharaoh and admitted they had nothing left, except their land and their own lives. “There is nothing left in the sight of my lord but our bodies and our land. Why should we die before your eyes, both we and our land? Buy us and our land for food, and we with our land will be servants to Pharaoh.”
So they surrendered their homes, their land, and their real estate to
Pharaoh’s government, and then sold themselves into slavery to him, in return for grain. What can we learn from this, brothers and sisters?
That turning to the government instead of to God to be our provider
in hard times only leads to slavery? Yes.. That the only reason government wants to be our provider is to also become our master? Yes.
But look how that passage ends, brothers and sisters! Thus Israel
settled in the land of Egypt , in the land of Goshen .. And they gained
possessions in it, and were fruitful and multiplied greatly.” God provided for His people, just as He always has! They didn’t end up giving all their possessions to government, no, it says they gained possessions!
But I also tell you a great truth today, and an ominous one. We see the same thing happening today – the government today wants to “share the wealth “once again, to take it from us and redistribute it back to us. It wants to take control of healthcare, just as it has taken control of education, and ration it back to us, and when government rations it, then government decides who gets it, and how much, and what kind. And if we go along with it, and do it willingly, then we will wind up no differently than the people of Egypt did four thousand years ago – as slaves to the government, and as slaves to our leaders.
What Mr. Obama’s government is doing now is no different from what Pharaoh’s government did then, and it will end the same. And a lot of people like to call Mr. Obama a “Messiah,” don’t they? Is he a Messiah? A savior? Didn’t the Egyptians say, after Pharaoh made them his slaves, ”You have saved our lives; may it please my lord, we will be servants to Pharaoh”?
Well, I tell you this - I know the Messiah; the Messiah is a friend of mine; and Mr. Obama is no Messiah! No, brothers and sisters, if Mr. Obama is a character from the Bible, then he is Pharaoh. Bow with me in prayer, if you will.
Lord, You alone are worthy to be served, and we rely on You, and You alone. We confess that the government is not our deliverer, and never rightly will be. We read in the eighth chapter of 1 Samuel, when Samuel warned the people of what a ruler would do, where it says “And in that day you will cry out because of your king, whom you have chosen for yourselves, but the LORD will not answer you in that day.” And Lord, we acknowledge that day has come. We cry out to you because of the ruler that we have chosen for ourselves as a nation. Lord, we pray for this nation. We pray for revival, and we pray for deliverance from those who would be our masters. Give us hearts to seek You and hands to serve You, and protect Your people from the atrocities of Pharaoh’s government.
Can I get an Amen????
In God We Trust…
Pass this on… Have a nice day.
Why the HC Bill is so bad – ESP for our Seniors!
Please read this, especially the reference to pages 58 & 59.. Thomas Edwards, editor of The River Cities Tribune, was contacted to get legal permission to quote David Kithil’s comments. Permission was granted, so here are excerpts from the article, giving EXACT pages and paragraphs in the bill and why it is so bad. I think Judge Kithil hits everything right on the head, and the opposition you may encounter cannot argue over these points:
JUDGE KITHIL wrote: “I have reviewed selected sections of the bill and find it unbelievable that our Congress, led by Speaker Nancy Pelosi, could come up with a bill loaded with so many wrong-headed elements. We do need to reform the health insurance system in America in order to make coverage affordable and available to everyone. But, how many of us believe our federal government can manage a new program any better than the bankrupt Medicare program or the under funded Social Security program?
“Both Republicans and Democrats are equally responsible for the financial mess of those two programs. “I am opposed to HB 3200 for a number of reasons. To start with, it is estimated that a federal bureaucracy of more than 150,000 new employees will be required to administer HB3200. That is an unacceptable expansion of a government that is already too intrusive in our lives. If we are going to hire 150,000 new employees, let’s put them to work protecting our borders, fighting the massive drug problem and putting more law enforcement and firefighters out there.”
NOW, here comes the good stuff: JUDGE KITHIL continued: “Other problems I have with this bill include:
** Page 50/section 152: The bill will provide insurance to all non-U.S. residents, even if they are here illegally.
** Page 58 and 59:& nbsp; The government will have real-time access to an individual’s bank account and will have the authority to make electronic fund transfers from those accounts.
** Page 65/section 164: The plan will be subsidized (by the government) for all union members, union retirees and for community organizations (such as the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now – ACORN).
** Page 203/line 14-15: The tax imposed under this section will not be treated as a tax. (How could anybody in their right mind come up with that?)
** Page 241 and 253: Doctors will all be paid the same regardless of specialty, and the government will set all doctors’ fees.
** Page 272. section 1145: Cancer hospital will ration care according to the patient’s age.
** Page 317 and 321: The government will impose a prohibition on hospital expansion;however, communities may petition for an exception.
** Page 425, line 4-12: The government mandates advance-care planning consultations. Those on Social Security will be required to attend an “end-of-life planning” seminar every five years.
** Page 429, line 13-25: The government will specify which doctors can write an end-of-life order.
HAD ENOUGH???? Judge Kithil then goes on: “Finally, it is specifically stated this bill will not apply to members of Congress. Members of Congress are already exempt from the Social Security system and have a well-funded private plan that covers their retirement needs. If they were on our Social Security plan, I believe they would find a very quick ‘fix’ to make the plan financially sound for the future.”

All of the above should give you all the point blank ammo you need to support your opposition to Obamacare. Please send this information on!
My job interview – and my “DUH!” moment after.. lol
Today I went on a job interview for a Billing Associate position and it went really good! I would love to land this job, because there’s so much about it that I like: the hours, position, job duties, office location, pay, benefits, everything… the lady who interviewed me said that I may hear back today if I get a second interview, yaay!! I passed the Online assessments and feel I did well with the questions, so I’m going to claim my victory and know I’m gonna get that call later
There aren’t many jobs available here! A huge call center that I could have applied at, closed a while back. I’m going to apply at a few other places while I wait, but really hoping for this job…
After the interview I hurriedly stopped for gas, and had a DUH! moment…. I had called in a special song request for “I Run To You” by Lady Antebellum as soon as I’d gotten back in my car…. and as luck would have it, they played it the second I pulled up to the pump lol.. so I left the key on and the song full blast
After pumping the gas, I tried to start my car. Nothing! A nice old man stopped and offered me a jump. Even after he hooked up the jumper cables nothing happened when I turned the key. I was worried.. I had just recenly had the alternator rebuilt and I was starting to get upset that they hadn’t done a good job.. The man worked on the battery connections for several minutes then told me he would try to turn the ignition. When he sat in my car, I heard him start to chuckle… I asked What was so funny.. and he pointed at my gear shifter… I had left my car in DRIVE when I turned if off.. so of COURSE the ignition wouldn’t turn over!! LOL He put the car in PARK and it started fine.. Boy were my cheeks red, LOL!!! (Face Palm!) The old man told me he didn’t mind helping and was glad it was something as simple as that.. and he tried real hard not to laugh, bless him LOL!!
Anyway… *GIGGLE* I’m really excited after my interview! Because of support and prayers from my family, friends, all of you Twitter Buds, and especially my BMF @ReconChesty >< I walked in confidence today. I may stumble, I may fall, but my loved ones are here to help me, and I appreciate that!!! Thanks for your prayers! I know 2010 is going to be a great year for me. I know God’s favor is coming on me in new ways, and that I’m going to come out of this stronger than ever, and happy! So many changes have been going on in my life, that I don’t wish to detail.. just suffice it to say that I’ve started a brand new chapter and I’m so excited. I’m determined to make my children proud of me, as I learn to be independent again. I hadn’t been on my own in – wow – 17 years.. but I know I can do this because I have the best support system!
Thanks again for your friendship everyone. Means more than you know! I’m going to start blogging again now that things are starting to plane out for me personally. I’ve missed Blogging! Actually, I just thought of a topic for my next blog so stay tuned
Hugs~ Debbie
